About the role

We are seeking two Legal Executives or Solicitors to join our Trust and Estate Team at our offices in Manukau and in Whangaparaoa. Both these roles are full time that offers an exciting opportunity to develop expertise in trust and estate law whilst working alongside experienced practitioners in a supportive team environment. You will play a key role in delivering comprehensive legal services to our clients in matters relating to trusts, estates, wills, enduring power of attorney and associated wealth planning. This position is integral to our team's ability to provide timely, expert advice to a diverse client base and to support the strategic growth of our trust and estate practice.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and reviewing wills, powers of attorney, and other testamentary documents

- Advising clients on estate planning strategies and wealth preservation

- Administering estates and managing the probate process from initial instructions through to finalisation

- Conducting trust-related research and providing advice on trust structures and administration

- Drafting trust deeds, settlement agreements, and related trust documentation

- Managing client relationships professionally and maintaining accurate file documentation

- Liaising with executors, trustees, beneficiaries, and other third parties

- Staying current with changes to trust and estate law and contributing to the team's knowledge base

- Supporting senior team members on more complex matters as required

What we're looking for

- A Legal Executive or a Solicitor with 3 years plus relevant experience

- Strong knowledge of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate administration

- Experience in trust and estate law, probate matters, or related areas of legal practice

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients

- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently

- Proficiency with legal practice management systems and Microsoft Office applications

- Professional client service skills and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Sound judgment, discretion, and an understanding of professional ethics and confidentiality obligations
